Mission Statement

by Dr. Wilbur Kuo

Our Approach to Wellness...

We put our patients first and provide compassionate care and support for a person's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. We are an independent practice and take the time to listen to patients' concerns and provide comprehensive care, not just address symptoms and illnesses. We strive to build strong relationships and communication with our patients.

What does the gourd symbolize?

Chinese folklore tells the tale of Dr. Chang Fang Fei. Around 200 A.D., he became famous for his compassion, diagnostic proficiency, and effective treatments, as he carried medicine around in a gourd and healed the sick.

To this day, physicians in Asia hang a sign in their office, 懸壺濟世, literally, "hang gourd heal public," which means "Practice Medicine to Heal the People.”
Our providers have extensive clinical experience. Dr. Wilbur Kuo trained at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Univeristy of Maryland Medical Systems and has over 20 years experience caring for patients in the outpatient setting, hospital, intensive care unit, assisted living, and nursing home. Nile Seaborn, PA-C, served as a Navy Hospitalman for 12 years before getting his PA degree at Pennsylvania State University. Emily Sumner, PA-C, received her PA degree at Arcadia University and has more than 13 years of experience in primary care. Jamie Weiner, PA-C, received her PA degree from Salus University, and has received numerous praises from patients for her compassion, thoroughness, and guidance. Darlene Nguyen, PA-C, received her PA degree from Frostburg University where she had extensive experience with internal medicine, and she speaks fluent Vietnamese. Our providers can provide the full scope of primary care, health education, and prevention. We can also accommodate English, Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, and Vietnamese speaking patients.

Our office accepts most major insurance plans and has flexible office hours to accommodate the needs of our patients. You can make appointments by phone (410-552-8126), e-mail (drkuomd@drkuomd.com), or (once registered) through our patient portal.

Please contact us if you have any questions or need any help or special accommodations. We strive to provide you with the best possible service and care.
